BAC Jet Provost

The' JP' was produced in a number of variants including the BAC Strikemaster that was exported to overseas air forces as a ground attack aircraft.

XM607 took part in Operation Black Buck during the Falklands conflict in 1982. As XM598 had technical problems, it was replaced by XM607, which performed the first sortie on Port Stanley Airport, piloted by Flight Lieutenant Martin Withers. XM607 undertook 3 more sorties right up until June 12.

The Hawker Siddeley Nimrod entered service with Royal Air Force in 1969 and was retired in 2011. This maritime patrol aircraft was a development of the de Havilland Comet. It replaced the Avro Shackleton in the anti-submarine role and anti-surface warfare. Later in its service life it took on the Airborne Early Warning role, eventually replaced by the Sentry.

The Gloster Javelin entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1956 as an all-weather fighter and interceptor with 46 Squadron at RAF Odiham. It was a distinctive twin-engined, T-tailed, delta-wing jet. In a night fighter role it replaced the ageing Meteor, however its role as an interceptor was made redundant with the introduction of the English Electric Lightning.

The upgrade included CUSP avionics that integrated the Paveway IV weapon with the communications module from Cassidian and TIE (Tactical Information Exchange) from General Dynamics. The GR4 was capable of Mach 2.2 with a range of 870 miles in combat.
