McDonnell Douglas F-4 FGR2 RAF Phantom After the cancellation of the TSR2 project, the Royal Air Force had to find a replacement for the Canberra and Hunter types. Initially the F-111 was considered but the option of ordering the Phantom was taken with alteration to engines, airframes and avionics. The first RAF Phantom entered service in 1969 with the formation of 6 Squadron at Coningsby. The FGR2 took on the roles of Close air support, tactical strike, reconnaissance and air defence. The Phantom was withdrawn from service in 1992. Hoodies are made from 80% ringspun cotton/20% polyester at 280gsm. Drop shoulder style with double fabric hood with self-colour drawcord.
