The Puma has seen service across the world with the RAF; West Germany, Belize, Northern Ireland, Venezuela and the Middle East in combat and in humanitarian operations. In 2012 the Puma HC Mk 2 entered service with many improvements including two Turbomeca Makila engines, a new defensive aids suite and the ability to carry a greater payload. The RAF Puma fleet will remain in service until 2025.
