No.45 Squadron - The Flying Camels Formed in 1916, as part of the Royal Flying Corps, the squadron started service life equipped with Sopwith Strutters. Between the wars No. 45 flew Vickers Vernon bomber - transports mainly in the Middle East, tasked with ground support and mail services. Through the years the squadron participated in the North African campaign of WWII, the Malayan Emergency, Indonesia and as a shadow squadron during the cold war. From the early 90s onwards 45 Squadron became a multi-engined unit, now operating Embraer Phenom T1s. This design has been given a deliberate aged and 'weathered' appearance.

No.56 Squadron - The Firebirds No.56 Squadron is one of the RAFs senior squadrons with many battle honours with notable airmen including James McCudden and Albert Ball among the ranks. In the 1960s the Squadron had an aerobatic team called the Firebirds, consisting of nine Lightning F.1As. Phantom FGR.2s and Tornado F3s followed as its operational aircraft. 56 Squadron now serves as the Air Command and Control Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Operational Evaluation Unit. This design has been given a deliberate aged and 'weathered' appearance.

No.74 Fighter Squadron No.74 Training Squadron started operational life in 1917, but was reformed as a Royal Flying Corps Fighter Squadron in 1918 and moved onto the Western Front. In combat, the Squadron developed a fierce reputation with a tiger-like aggression. A spirit that has stayed with this Squadron until it was disbanded in 2000. Famous pilots from the First War include Mick Mannock, Taffy Jones and Sydney Carlin. This design has been given a deliberate aged and 'weathered' appearance.

No. IX Squadron Number 9 Squadron is the oldest bomber squadron, as part of the RFC, formed in 1914. During the Second World War the squadron specialised in precision bombing with the Lancaster. Alongside 617, No.9 Squadron was responsible for the sinking of the Tirpitz during Operation Catechism. During the Cold War the squadron operated the Vulcan, moving onto being the first squadron to operate the Tornado GR.1. As the Tornado retired, No.9 was re-equipped with the Typhoon FGR.4 This design has been given a deliberate aged and 'weathered' appearance.

Operation Chastise - Dambusters Raid On the 16-17th May 1943, 617 Squadron carried out an attack on the Rhur Dams using the famous bouncing bomb. Squadron X from No.5 Group RAF became 617 under the command of Wing Commander Guy Gibson with crews made up of many nationalities including the Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Lockheed P-38 Lightning Designed by Clarence 'Kelly' Johnson, the Lightning first flew in 1939 and entered military service in 1941. It had a distinctive design with a central nacelle and twin booms. The P-38 was most successful in the Pacific theatre, flown by aces such as Richard Bong, Thomas McGuire and Charles H. MacDonald. The Honduran Air Force used the Lightning right up until 1965.

Bell P-39 Airacobra Designed by Bell Aircraft, the Airacobra is a unique design with the engine positioned centrally in the fuselage and a tricycle undercarriage. The P-39 entered service in 1941 with the USSAC, RAF, Soviet Air Force, Free French and Italian Co-Belligerent Air Force. After the war the Airacobra was used in the US National Air Races.

Curtiss P-40 Warhawk The P-40 was the modification of the P36 Hawk and came into service at the start of World War II. It was used by all the allied air forces, mainly as an air superiority fighter in Africa, Pacific and China as well as Eastern Europe and Alaska. Most famous were the Flying Tigers. An American Volunteer Group that was part of the Chinese Air Force who operated against the Japanese.

Republic P-47 Thunderbolt The Thunderbolt was used as a medium range escort fighter and ground attack aircraft. Nicknamed the 'Jug', the P-47 was powered by the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp making it a formidable fighter both in the war over Europe and in the Pacific.

North American P-51D Mustang The Mustang was a long range fighter used in many roles including bomber escort with the USAAF's Eighth Air Force over Germany. Powered by the Packard V-1650, a U.S. version of the Rolls Royce Merlin 66 and armed with six 50 cal machine guns, the Mustang competed well against any aircraft from the Luftwaffe.

Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star The Shooting Star, designed by Kelly Johnson, was the first U.S. jet fighter. The jet first flew in 1944 and entered service with the USAAF in 1945. The P-80 was briefly operational at the end of World War II and saw combat during the Korean War.

Aérospatiale SA330 Puma The Puma first flew in 1965 and entered service with the Royal Air Force in January 1971 at RAF Odiham with the designation of Puma HC Mk I, used in the transport role. The helicopter was jointly manufactured by Aérospatiale and Westland Helicopters. The Puma has seen service across the world with the RAF; West Germany, Belize, Northern Ireland, Venezuela and the Middle East in combat and in humanitarian operations. In 2012 the Puma HC Mk 2 entered service with many improvements including two Turbomeca Makila engines, a new defensive aids suite and the ability to carry a greater payload. The RAF Puma fleet will remain in service until 2025.

Wing Commander Robert Roland Stanford-Tuck Stanford-Tuck joined the Royal Air Force in 1935, with his first experience of combat over Dunkirk during the Battle of France. As a Squadron Leader he commanded a squadron of Hurricanes that participated in sorties over northern France during the early part of the war. He was shot down in 1942 and was taken prisoner. This design celebrates Tuck as a Fighter Ace with 29 destroyed to his name, but he was part of the RAF that was served by many men and women who were all heroes.
