McDonnell Douglas F-4 FGR2 RAF Phantom After the cancellation of the TSR2 project, the Royal Air Force had to find a replacement for the Canberra and Hunter types. Initially the F-111 was considered but the option of ordering the Phantom was taken with alteration to engines, airframes and avionics. The first RAF Phantom entered service in 1969 with the formation of 6 Squadron at Coningsby. The FGR2 took on the roles of Close air support, tactical strike, reconnaissance and air defence. The Phantom was withdrawn from service in 1992. T-shirts are made from 100% pre-shrunk ringspun cotton. A comfortable shirt to wear at 185gsm with tubular short sleeves.

F-4 Phantom II The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was first developed for the United States Navy and entered service in 1960. This fighter-bomber is a large, formidable aircraft that has a top speed of Mach 2.2 and is capable of carrying a devastating payload. The F-4 was used during the Vietnam war in many roles including air superiority, ground-attack and reconnaissance. This long-serving type continued operational duties during the Gulf War in 1991.  T-shirts are made from 100% pre-shrunk ringspun cotton.
