Sopwith Aviation Company The Sopwith Aviation Company was formed in 1912 by Thomas Octave Murdoch Sopwith. Tommy was a wealthy sportsman interested in aviation, yachting and motor racing. The business started at Brooklands, moved to Canbury Park Road then settled in Kingston. After World War I Sopwith was liquidated and Tommy Sopwith formed HG Hawker Engineering with Harry Hawker, Fred Sigrist and Bill Eyre. Sopwith produced many aircraft types including the Camel, Dove, Pup and Swallow. Long-sleeve T-shirts are made from 100% ringspun semi-combed cotton.
