Supermarine Spitfire The Spitfire is a must for the flyingraphics collection. The shirt displays the heritage of the Spitfire starting with the Supermarine S.5 designed by R.J. Mitchell to compete for the Schneider Trophy in 1927. The main illustration shows the MK I type 300 and the MK XIV type 379 in side elevation. Supermarine Spitfire Prototype K5054 K5054 was the only Spitfire prototype made and was first flown by 'Mutt' Summers on 5th March 1936. He famously remarked "I don't want anything touched!" referring to how perfect the aircraft flew.
